Cardiovascular Consultants, Ltd. first opened its doors for business in July of 1974 as Surburban Cardiology Consultants. Founded by William Kimber, MD (since retired), the focus of the practice is to help meet the growing demand for quality cardiology services in the northwestern section of the metropolitan area. The practice soon began offering outreach services to outlying areas of Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
During early 1996 Cardiovascular Consultants moved to its current location in the North Heart Center at North Memorial Medical Center, helping create a new and innovative concept in healthcare of a "one stop shop for your heart care needs".
In October 2004, CVC in partnership with North Memorial Health Care opened the North Memorial Women's Heart Clinic on the WestHealth campus in Plymouth. This provided the area with one of the only cardiology facilities for women staffed by women.
Soon on the horizon, CVC will open it's office in Maple Grove at the North Memorial Medical Office Building. The location of this office will allow better access to patients in the northwest quadrant of the state.
