Cardiothoracic surgeons are doctors who are skilled in a variety of complex operations inside the chest (thorax). This could range from open-heart surgery to repair of blood vessel.

 

Reza Khodaverdian, MD

Dr. Khodaverdian earned his medical degree from Tehran School of Medical Sciences in Terhran, Iran. He completed general surgery residencies at the University of Connecticut in Farmington, CT and at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, CT. He completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and board eligible for the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Khodaverdian has a special interest in surgical treatment options for patients with heart failure and arrhythmias.
 

R. Michael King, MD

Dr. King earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee School of Medicine in Memphis. He completed a general surgery and a thoracic and cardiovascular surgery fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. His special interests include valve replacement/repair, ascending aorta repairs, congenital repairs and transmyocardial revascularization (TMR).
 

Joseph Van Camp, MD

Dr. Van Camp earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed a general surgery residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals and a thoracic surgery fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia. He is board certified in general surgery, surgical critical care and thoracic surgery.
 

Connie Caldwell, PA-C

Connie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant. She completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Connie is a fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and is a NCCPA Board Certified Physician Assistant.
 

Dustin Carda, PA-C

Dustin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from North Dakota State University in Fargo. He completed his Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. Dustin is a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants and is a NCCPA Board Certified Physician Assistant.
