Project for Pride in Living (PPL) is a non-profit organization that has been designed to empower individuals who are seeking to further their growth and development in areas of their career and education. This program utilizes a holistic approach to focus on the individual as a whole. They offer a variety of resources to meet the specific needs of an individual through employment and job readiness services. Participants prepare for long-term success by studying soft skills within the classroom setting and receiving on the job training through "job shadowing".
North Memorial Health Care has partnered with PPL to provide their classroom participants with the opportunity to complete their "job shadowing" experience who have an interest in the field of healthcare. Individuals have "job shadowed" in roles such as clerical, dietary aide and nursing assistant positions. The goal behind this partnership is to create a pipeline to meet our staffing needs as well as to provide employment opportunities for those in the communities that we serve.
Once participants complete their training they work with a retention specialist for 12-18 months afterwards to not only position themselves in the workforce but to continue their career development.
HOSA, a national student organization, is the largest student organization for young people enrolled in Health Occupations/Health Science Programs and those interested in pursuing a career in the health professions. HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition exclusively for secondary, postsecondary, adult, and collegiate students enrolled in HSTE programs.
HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.
HOSA's mission is especially critical when considering the acute shortage of qualified workers for the health care industry.
HOSA works closely with local and state leaders to build a pipeline to attract qualified young people to the health care industry. As a health care provider, we feel it is our responsibility to help develop future health care professionals. As a HOSA partner, we help provide opportunities to future health care workers, participate in workshops and competitive events and work collaboratively with the Health Care Community and stake holders.
We are committed to diversity. North Memorial is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
